High Speed Inter-Office Connectivity / Virtual Private Networks
Virtual Private Network (VPN) services provide private connectivity between buildings or offices in order to provide inter-office connectivity to carry internal data and/or voice traffic.
Unwired’s VPN’s are deployed across its private network thereby allowing QoS for the prioritisation of voice and video traffic to be supported. Internet access can be provided along with a VPN solution.
There are two options in providing VPN services.
- A standard connection to the Unwired network is provided to each of the required sites. Technologies such as IPSec are used by the customer to ‘build’ tunnels across the Unwired network providing security and isolation from the Internet and other networks. IPSec capable CPE such as a router or firewall are required to implement this type of VPN solution.
- Unwired provisions a dedicated Layer 2 Ethernet service across its network with the resulting network isolated from the Internet and other networks. This layer 2 network can be designed and implemented using either an 802.1q VLAN or a MPLS/VPLS tunnelling approach. In both instances the network configuration and isolation is handled by Unwired and no special CPE is required.
